CASPA 20th Anniversary Conference & Dinner Banquet

Partners Events on September 10th, 2011 Comments Off on CASPA 20th Anniversary Conference & Dinner Banquet

Semiconductor Embracing Our Lives – Into the Future

Founded in 1991, CASPA was formed by some semiconductor professionals who were also pioneers and innovators at Fairchild, AMD, National Semiconductor, and other corporations in the Silicon Valley. Passionated by the new idea of creating new fabless business on semiconductor applications with the Foundry model in both American and Asia, the founders of CASPA had initialized a strong vision that ultimately lead to the formation of CASPA, a primary technology platform for semiconductor professionals to promote technology innovation, assist business collaboration, bridge technology communication across the Pacific, and bring job opportunities to the individuals in CASPA community. Today, CASPA is a great platform for engineers and scientists within the community to share friendship, brainstorm new technologies, incubate business ideas, and more importantly, deliver great service back to CASPA communities. CASPA has flourished over all these 20 years with sponsorship, membership, and many influential activities all year around across United States, China, Taiwan and Singapore.

At CASPA’s 20th anniversary, we will celebrate the glory of semiconductor technology, as well as the great achievement made by CASPA team in the past 20 years. While embracing the semiconductor at its invisible and ubiquitous impact in our life —— at work, at home, and at play, we are also looking into the future where innovations in semiconductor continue, and continue to enrich and create new lives of business and adventures for all.

With great honor, we have invited some visionaries and pioneers in our field as conference keynote speakers, who have made tremendous efforts and significant contributions to the growth and breakthrough of semiconductor industry. They will share their unique understanding and experience in the semiconductor field, and their new vision on how innovations in foundation technologies can continue empowering future long standing technology growth in the form of cloud computing, social network, advanced user interface, and many others. CASPA founders and former presidents will also come to celebrate with us, and share their life experience, wisdom, achievements at CASPA in the past and their visions for the future.

There will be Prize Drawings in this event. Come and win gifts to carry back home!

9/18/2011: NACSA Event Series – LED Technology Seminar

Events on September 10th, 2011 Comments Off on 9/18/2011: NACSA Event Series – LED Technology Seminar

LED Technology Seminar

LED technology development leads to tremendous new applications and exciting opportunities in recent years.   Despite fundamental improvements in the performance of light output, many problems designers are facing today remain very challenging, such as new materials, power efficiency, heat control, process technology, packaging, and etc.  As NACSA’s previous LED events have been well received, we have invited two distinguished speakers in this seminar. M.W. Lui, a proponent of LED technology, will introduce to you ever expending world of LED, from backlighting of cell phones, tablets, monitors and TVs to PICO projectors and automobile headlamps; from flashlights to light fixtures for your home, office, building, and street. Dr. Ernest Demaray, a senior Silicon Valley scientist, inventor, and executive, will open the Pandora’s Box of challenges surrounding the use of the light inside the solid to provide light for us in the world. By walking down the winding paths further, we discover unexpected, surprising opportunities to overcome the difficulties, and find new ways hidden today.

We cordially invite aspiring professionals to join us at this very interesting technical seminar. Take the opportunity to learn more about the industry trend and its outlook, and mingle with other professionals and entrepreneurs.

M.W. Lui, Product Marketing Manager, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors

With a wealth of experience in the semiconductor field for over 20 years, M.W. Lui is a guru and teacher of LED technology.  Having background in semiconductor packaging and working with wire bonding process, it was an easy transition for him over to LED product development in the 90’s.  Mr. Lui also had developed multiple passive OLED displays and launched successfully into products as Product Engineering Manager.  When the evolution of LED technology expanded into Solid State Lighting, Mr. Lui was integral part of the team in catching the beginning of this wave.  Mr. Lui expanded his role later to better know the markets and customers for a few years as Technical Sales Manager.  Most recently, he is Product Marketing Manager for Visible LED products at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, responsible for camera flash, video displays, and LED chip business.

Ernest Demaray, Ph.D., Founder and President, Antropy

Seasoned President & CEO, Dr. Ernest Demaray has more than 40 years experience in semiconductor, energy conversion and storage industries. Dr. Demaray is the lead inventor and author/co-author of more than 100 patents worldwide. His first patented invention is the adherent ceramic barrier coating that is on the hot section blades and vanes of every turbine engine in the world. Ernest has a reputation for original solutions to major industrial problems. He has shipped hundreds of millions of dollars of new product revenue. Ernest was the Senior Director of Product Development at Varian Semiconductor Equipment Group where he developed and shipped the industry’s first cluster tools. He was the Senior Director and General Manager of Applied Komatsu PVD Division and shipped similar ground breaking vacuum deposition equipment to jump start flat panel TFT-LCD manufacturing.  Dr. Demaray was the founder, CEO and President of Symmorphix Inc., now a legendary thin film Silicon Valley technology company.
